I gotta admit, I am a little surprised that the Health Care bill passed. This is a great victory for the American people! Hooray! (I kind of want to have a party...)
What really gets my goat, though, is that the media keeps calling it a victory for Obama. Why does everything have to be about Democrats or Republicans winning? Aren't these people supposed to be looking out for our interests??? Didn't we vote for them so they would stand up in Washington and say, "This is what the people want. This is what the people need"? Hello? This isn't a win for Obama or for Democrats. This is a win for us! This is a win for the Framers of our Constitution (though I think if they could see what has happened to our legislative process, they might be a little disappointed in the childishness of our representatives).
I wish the media would spend less time treating the debates in Washington like a boxing match for Democrats and Republicans, and would spend more time doing what they're supposed to: informing the people. Telling us that we'll have death panels is not informative or helpful.
That is all. I'll be done whining for now...
